As an account manager, you are an important part of our organisation. With your varied job, you demonstrate everything we have to offer to new and existing clients. What do we offer you? Salesperson, relationship manager, consultant, product trainer: you are all these things and more. You represent our organisation - an experienced distributor - in your dealings with major players in the biotechnology sector, ranging from pharmaceutical companies to businesses in the food industry. We put our trust in your expertise. This means we will give you lots of responsibility and the freedom to perform your duties however you want. For example, if you spot opportunities to open doors with new organisations or identify potentially interesting (biotech) trends, we want you to share your ideas with us. We give you the space you need to execute your plans. If you need help, you can always reach out to your colleagues.

A few examples of your activities

  • At our office in Waalwijk, you discuss with our sales director about your ideas on how to approach and reel in new clients, e.g. through acquisition, client visits and meetings, social media and trade shows. You then draw up a general acquisition plan.
  • During a meeting with the directors of a pharmaceutical company from your client portfolio, you discuss their experiences with delivered products and bring new product lines to their attention.
  • You draw up offers for new clients whom you previously visited in person. You maintain short lines of communication with your technical colleagues and accurately enter all data into our CRM system.
  • You organise training sessions for end users about the newest products in our range, such as the bio analyzer or osmometer.
  • You periodically get together with the other members of the sales team; five account managers and the sales director. During these meetings, we share knowledge in an open manner and brainstorm about how to optimise our sales processes.

With your natural affinity with sales, in-depth knowledge of products and technologies, enthusiasm, persuasiveness and winner's mentality, you help us successfully achieve our goals. You have a clear communication style, can easily deal with (new) targets and enjoy contributing to the development and growth of I&L Biosystems. You are able to quickly learn anything you don't already know. You love working on your personal and professional development. You keep a close eye on and are able to anticipate the latest market trends and new developments within clients’ organisations. You also love to travel and work out of various international destinations. If you live near or in Belgium, that is a big plus.

You also have:

  • at minimum, higher-education professional and intellectual credentials, e.g. in the field of biotechnology and/or life sciences;
  • a minimum of three years’ experience in a similar sales position;
  • an existing network in the pharmaceutical industry or the field of biotechnology;
  • a good command of the English or French language.
  • a driver's licence B.
